Users looking to purchase a cheaper Samsung Galaxy S7 will appreciate Amazon's latest deal. Also, Galaxy S7 users will be getting the Android 7.1.1 Nougat update soon, but there are some restrictions.
Samsung already announced that the Galaxy S7 will be updated to Android 7.1.1 Nougat when that version of the operating system rolls out, Yahoo! reported. It should be noted, however, that Android 7.1.1 Nougat won't be available to Galaxy S7 devices under the Australian carrier Vodafone.
Vodafone handsets will get updated to the Android 7.0 Nougat instead. It's still unknown why Vodafone wouldn't allow its Galaxy S7 devices to update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are expected to start updating to Android Nougat in mid-December. Other devices such as the Note 5, Galaxy S6, and S6 Edge will get it in early 2017, Express reported.
The Android 7.1.1 Nougat is considered as a minor update for handsets that already have Nougat. However, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge previously ran Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, so Nougat will bring about important changes, notable tweaks, and bug fixes.
In other news for the Galaxy S7, users can now buy a special variant of the device cheaper as long as it is under T-Mobile and AT&T. An unlocked Blue Coral Galaxy S7 Edge under the two major carriers is available on Amazon for just $619.99 with free shipping.
The Blue Coral Galaxy S7 Edge version is popular among consumers. T-Mobile currently offers the 32 GB variant of the handset for an installment price of $9.99 per month for 30 months, or $729.99 in full. AT&T, on the other hand, offers the smartphone for $26.50 per month for 30 months, or $794.99. Those prices are lower now thanks to Amazon's new deal.
The Galaxy S7 is equipped with Quad HD Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, a 4GB of RAM, a 3000mAh battery (3600mAh for the S7 Edge), a 12 MP primary camera, and a 5 MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Both cameras have f/1.7 aperture.
The Galaxy S7 has an IP68 water and dust-proof rating, which allows it to get submerged 1.5 meters underwater for 30 minutes. The device's OLED panels' high pixel count (534 ppi) provides a crisper quality to the screen.
