Moto M, Moto G4 Plus, Moto Z Play: Design and Build

The three Moto flagships rock 5.5-inch screen with the same pixels resolution but different in pixel density and screen-to-body ratio. Moto M has the largest display among the three. The recently-launched Moto M is the first Motorola flagship that sports full metal body. The chassis is splash resistant, solid and durable with a slightly curvy back panel.

The metal device feels nicer to hold when compared to G4 Plus and Z Play with the plastic material.

The three handsets run Android Marshmallow out of the box but Motorola has confirmed Android Nougat will be rolled out to each device, GSM Arena reported.

The drawback in Moto M would be the lack of dedicated slot for memory expansion. Moto Z Play and G4 Plus aren't hybrid devices and both rock Snapdragon chipset instead of Helio P10 like Moto M.

Moto M is a clear winner when it comes to the camera front. It pairs 16 MP rear shooter and 8 MP front-facing shooter whilst the other two sport 16 MP-5MP cameras.

Moto M packs a decent battery capacity of 3,050 mAh that comes with fast-charging feature. It also comes with USB type C port and Dolby Atmos for audio enhancement.

Moto G4 Plus is the cheapest among the three, with $184 pricetag. Moto M sells for around $290 according to PhoneArena. With the pricepoint, Moto M packs more punch than G4 Plus and offers better value than the Z Play. As a newer device, it's also worth the upgrade with the bigger RAM and better build.
