William and Kate will not celebrate Christmas with Queen Elizabeth in Norfolk this year. The husband and wife plan to bring Prince George and Princess Charlotte in Berkshire where Kate's family resides.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated the holidays last year with the Queen in a tight schedule at Sandringham, as reported by AOL.

There were some citizens who criticize that William and Kate were not practicing royal tradition by not staying with the Queen on Christmas Day.

Unique Celebration of Royal Family During Christmas

English people celebrate Christmas uniquely compared with Americans. The royal family practices its own unique traditions. The royal family attends both formal and informal gatherings. The monarchy spends Christmas at Sandringham House instead of Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip travel through public train. This royal duo leaves London a few days before Christmas and then stay at the said location until early February. Sandringham House is a Jacobethan manor which is sprawled on 20,000 acres of land.

Usually, the royal family involves an afternoon tea. They also exchange gifts the day before Christmas. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, Prince of Wales play soccer or football as Brits call it.

Prince George and Prince Charlotte First Visit

Kate and William's children will spend the big day in Buckleberry with Kate's family home, as confirmed by People. This is the first time that the children will spend Christmas Day with Michael and Carole Middleton's manor home.

This is the second time that Kate and Prince William celebrated Christmas with the Middletons since their visit in 2012. This was the period when Kate was pregnant with George.

The Middleton's manor house is where Kate spent most of her growing up days. It is considered to be a perfect place for children who loves playing in the garden. Carole's garden has a great collection of chickens and ducks.

William and Kate will attend church with the Middletons at a church nearby.
