SpaceX CEO Elon Musk will be meeting with president-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday, Dec. 14. Other leaders in the tech industry are expected to be in attendance as well.

Inverse reported that president-elect Donald Trump has announced last week that he plans to meet giants in the tech industry. Apple CEO Tim Cook, Microsoft's Satya Nadella and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg are confirmed to attend the meeting.

It was noted that SpaceX CEO Elon Musk will also be joining the group on Wednesday. The meeting, which is believed to have the purpose of brainstorming for ideas on how to create more jobs in the tech industry, will be held at Trump Tower.

This comes as a surprise since Musk previously stated his uncertainty of the real-estate mogul. He also admitted that he thinks Hillary Clinton's policies on the economy and environment are "the right ones."

"I feel a bit stronger that he is not the right guy," the SpaceX CEO told CNBC. "He doesn't seem to have the sort of character that reflects well on the United States."

In a recent report by CNBC, it was noted that there were speculations that Musk may not join the tech meeting. There were also concerns that the two men may not see eye to eye because of their different views on climate change.

Musk has confirmed that Tesla's primary purpose is "accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy." Trump, on the other hand, believes that climate change is a hoax made up by the Chinese.

According to CNN, the SpaceX CEO could actually benefit from Trump's presidency. This is because of rising oil prices.

In the past few weeks, oil prices have increased due to OPEC's agreement to cut production. More consumers may turn to electric vehicles such as Tesla's cars if the trend continues.

As oil prices continue to rise, it would affect gas prices as well. This would be an advantage for Tesla as well as energy companies.
