With buzz of AMD's upcoming showcasing in the upcoming "New Horizon" event this December surfacing online, the company is positioned to reveal more about its next-gen motherboard, the high-end chipset AM4-based X370, which will focus on the chipset's USB 3.1 and overclocking options.

According to iTechPost, the X370 Zen chipset is set at the high-end segment of the AM4 platform. The motherboards based on the chipset should include a USB 3.1, easy overclocking options, four x8 PCIe Gen3 lanes for multi-GPU setups or up to two full x16 PCIe Gen3 lanes.

Although tradition suggests that most of the recent AMD CPU releases were derived from older models, the upcoming Zen CPU is expected to be a revolutionary one. On recent leaks, the Zen chipset is expected to cater to enthusiasts, considering the impressive specs through CPU and RAM overclocking.

AMD will launch three different AM4 desktop platforms based on their quality of chipsets. The entry-level is the A320, the mid-tier is the B350 and the high-end chipset, the AM4 AMD X370. Notable features on the chipsets are the M.2 connectivity, DDR4 memory, PCI-E gen 3, USB 3.1 Gen2 and NVMe & SATA Express, HotHardware reported.

The "X" initial on the X370 Zen chipset stands for Extreme as the next0gen chipset will be considered to be the most high-end chipset in the lineup, which will also support Multi-GPU rendering Crossfire and SLI setups.

AMD's Zen-based CPUs and its corresponding high-end X370 chipsets will make their arrivals at CES 2017 in January.

As the New Horizon event welcomes fans of board manufacturers including AMD, the company teases an exclusive preview of AMD's NEW Zen CPU. The teaser says, "Join AMD at New Horizon on 12/13 at 3pm CST for an exclusive advance preview of our new "Zen" CPU ahead of its 2017 Q1 release. New Horizon is AMD's fan-focused event, designed to engage our most dedicated customers."

AMD continued: "As well as a hands-on preview of the power of 'Zen,' attendees will be able to talk to the AMD minds behind the chip itself and grab expert gaming advice from eSports & Evil Geniuses legend PPD. The event is hosted by industry veteran Geoff Keighley, who'll introduce special guests throughout the day."

The high-end X370 chipsets will be launched at CES 2017, while mainstream B350 and low-end A320 will be unveiled later. Meanwhile, X370-based motherboards will begin shipments in December.
