It's the buzz of the online and e-commerce world, Amazon has launched and started trialing its new grocery store "Amazon Go" in Seattle using "Just Walk Out" Technology, where there are no queues, cashiers, and registers. The new service, which currently still in beta, will offer cashier-free, app-based food shopping experience to customers.

As reported earlier by Techcrunch, Amazon has not yet confirmed when or whether its new service "Amazon Go" might be rolled out elsewhere, but the new service is expected to open to the public by next year.

To use the new service, customers must download and install first the "Amazon Go" app, and then log in with their account credentials. As customers enter the Amazon Go store, the app's virtual shopping cart tracks and records every item customers picked up, even recognizing and recording if an item is put back on a shelf.

The best thing about the "Amazon Go" service is that new service does not require the use of a shopping cart or basket, instead, it utilizing a system of advanced algorithms and sensors to record selected items. The store simply prompts automatic payment, and then the "Amazon Go" app sends the user a receipt for their purchases made from the store. After that, they can start putting goods into their shopping bags.

However, It still unclear how the new service will prevent shoplifters from "Amazon Go" users. But according to Amazon, their store are equipped with some of the latest computer vision, sensors, and machine learning technology, which means that it can detect when products are removed and returned to the store shelves.

For now, the new "Amazon Go" exist for employee-only in Seattle, but it is expected to open to the public in early 2017.

This is not Amazon's first venture with retail. Last year, as reported earlier by The Guardian, the e-commerce giant opened its Amazon Books, it's first real physical bookstore that also located in Seattle. The company is reportedly looking to expand that business in a big way with the addition of pop-up shops across the US market.

In addition to the "Amazon Go" and Amazon Bookstore, the company also has the Amazon Fresh, a grocery delivery service that has gradually rolled out in various US markets.
