In a line that is associated with something terrible is about to happen, "Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin wrote, "Winter is coming, I told you so."

Martin was not quoting one of his "Game of Thrones" characters this time, but his lament towards the results of the just concluded presidential elections, where Donald Trump emerged as the 45th president of the United States.

Martin wrote on his Live Journal blog, titled "President Pussygrabber," "There are no words for how I feel this morning." Martin joins the ranks of celebrities and the rest of the citizenry on what might constitute as a four-year long winter ahead in the Trump presidency starting January 2017.

Martin's dark foreboding cite that in both the House and the Senate sits a decimated Democrat minority who does not have the power to stop Trump. Not mincing words, He calls Trump the least qualified candidate and that he pressed on saying "he will become the worst president in American history."

Days before the elections, Martin wrote a longer blog that tackled the political ads sent out by both candidates, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The blog entitled "A Simple Observation" centered on the mudslinging during the campaign period where he observed Clinton's ads showed, "Trump being Trump." Trump's ads were much more adversary in what he termed "Trump's own original ugly contribution to lowering the tenor of political discourse." The rest he calls, "Attack Ad 101."

Martin wrote in acceptance that America has spoken, yet added a terse remark: "I thought we were better than this. Guess not." He then predicted the next four years under a Trump administration meant problems are going to get much, much worse.

So much so like The Wall guarded by the Night Watch in "Game of Thrones," Martin ended his blog saying, "Winter is coming, I told you so."
