The HTC Bolt may be following a recent trend to remove the headphone jack and sources indicated that the Bolt is waterproof.

The removal of the 3.5mm audio jack from the specs does not sit well with certain consumers. However, latest reports suggest that the phone will come with HTC's BoomSound Adaptive Audio. These are rumoured to be the world's first adaptive earphones. They allegedly measure and calibrate sound to best suit the listener's ears, Digital Trends reported. These will have 13mm drivers, 24-bit audio processing and promises excellent bass response.

The HTC Bolt is IP57 rated. This means it is both dust protected and waterproof up to a meter of freshwater. However, the Taiwanese company, mentioned users should not intentionally submerge the device, GSMArena reported.

HTC has done away with the Google Assistant and replaced it with Amazon's Alexa. Consumers agree Amazon's assistant is the better option for a mobile application.

The leaked specs indicated that the 5.5-inch smartphone will have a resolution of 1,920 by 1,080 pixels for its Quad-High Definition display. Behind it could be 3-gigabytes of RAM, 64-gigabytes of internal storage and a MicroSD card slot. It will also have a fingerprint sensor as a well as a Type-C USB port similar to the HTC 10.

The rear camera is speculated to have 18-megapixels with an aperture of f/2.0, while the front snapper has 8-megapixels. The primary camera might be able shoot 4K resolution video on top of everything.

It was also rumored that the specs include the Snapdragon 810 processor. Consumers question this as it may result in overheating issues. The new device was also said to feature a 3,200mAh batter with quick charging. It will provide a day's worth of use and be fully-charged in just half an hour. It was also rumored to be the first HTC smartphone to run Android 7.0 Nougat.
