Since Apple is tight-lipped on any following details about iPad Air 3, rumors went ahead of the company's announcement indicating when the device will be released, and how its design and features will be different. Now, being absent during the unveiling of the iPhone 7, fans of the iPad series is looking for the device's possible release for fall of 2017 after citing a recent price drop on iPad Air 2.

In the past, the first-ever iPad Air was released in 2013 and was followed by the iPad Air 2 in 2014. Two years since the last iPad Air was dropped in the market, many people thought that the iPad Air 3 would be unveiled along with the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus last month; however, the device did not appear on the said event.

After few months, MacWorld cited rumors claiming that the release of an iPad Air 3 was "imminent" due to the fact that some US-based sellers are offering the almost two-year-old iPad Air 2 with a $250 discount. More specifically, Quick Shop Electronics, an eBay Seller in the US issued its cut off price for the discontinued 128GB iPad Air 2 in Space Grey for $449.99, down from $699.99.

More so, Christian Today learned that the Apple iPad Air 3 missed the spotlight during this year's WWDC event and the September event. Despite this, the iPad Air 3 is still rumored to be moving forward, and it might reportedly launch in March 2017 in the next Apple WWDC event.

If Apple iPad Air 3 should be slated for its March 2017 release or anytime this year, the device is speculated to feature an all 7000-series aluminum body, making it thinner and lighter than all previous iPad models. The unit will also feature Smart connector, a flush camera, a 3D Touch and an improved processor or more RAM. Rumors are circulating that the iPad Air 3 may also get rid of its 3.5mm earphone jack, similar the direction taken by iPhone 7.

However, since there is no specialty in its product, Apple may decide to discard iPad Air and integrate its iPad product line into one series; hence, the rumors seeing a new "Pro" model for iPad that will include the True Tone display, a Smart Connector on the side for magnetically connecting to accessories like a keyboard, quad stereo speakers, an improved 12-megapixel camera with True Tone flash and a new four-array microphone setup.
