Google Pixel XL and Nexus 6P share the same DNA but there are differences that potential users need to know.

Google Pixel XL vs Nexus 6P: Design

Pixel XL, the premium variant of the two Pixel Phones, is 10 grams lighter than Nexus 6P. It is a 5.5 inch sleek handset with AMOLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Nexus 6P sports a larger screen, 5.7 inches, but with the same resolution (1440 x 2560 pixels).

Pixel XL is a brand new phone but not with a brand new design. Android fans would be familiar with the typical chassis but that certainly meets today's demands of a smartphone - sleek, stylisj and slim. Nexus 6P has a more unique design with its camera wedge but many have admitted that it makes the phone less graceful.

Google Pixel XL vs Nexus 6P: Camera

Basically, the camera specs on Nexus 6P is what user gets on Pixel XL. An 8 MP front-facing camera and 12 MP rear camera that features phase detection, dual LED flash and laser autofocus. Both devices do not have OIS for steady shot but Pixel XL has video stabilization software instead.

The camera score for Pixel phone in DxOMark reaches 89 points. This is the highest rating that could indicate an excellent sensor and performance, The Verge has learned.

Google Pixel XL vs Nexus 6P: Hardware and software

Pixel XL is certainly an improved version of Nexus phone. A fast processor Snapdragon 821 is paired with 4 GB RAM and two options of ROM: 32 GB and 128 GB. Nexus 6P which uses Snapdragon 810 chipset has 3 GB of RAM.

Under the hood of the new Pixel launcher, there is Android Nougat running as the OS whereas Nexus 6P users need to upgrade its Marshmallow OS before able to enjoy the Nougat features.

The battery capacity does not change a bit. Both handsets are shipped with 3,450 mAh fast-charging battery.

Nexus 6P starts at $499 and Google Pixel XL is priced at $769. If price is not a concern, the Google Pixel XL is a solid choice for those who want a premium device with large screen, more optimized software and impressive hardware.
