Are Xiaomi Redmi 3 variants making you confused? The Chinese smartphone maker launched Redmi 3, Redmi 3S Prime and 3 Pro with slightly different specifications. Here's why 3S Prime stands out.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime premium build quality

Redmi 3S Prime has that build quality with the metal chassis. The design is premium, displaying 720 x 1280 pixels resolution from its 5-inch screen. It has a decent bright and contrast. The MIUI 8 interface shows off Android Marshmallow OS launcher with rich features and customizations.

Under the hood, a Snapdragon 430 chipset is coupled with 32 GB ROM and 3 GB RAM. The phone is great for gaming without lagging issue. The multimedia may not be as excellent as in Lenovo K5 Note but the audio and video quality is more than average.

Redmi 3S Prime packs a whopping battery capacity of 4,100 mAh with rapid-charging feature. Other components include fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, microUSB and Bluetooth 4.1.

What makes Redmi 3S Prime different from Redmi 3 Pro and Redmi 3 is the processor used, according to the specifications listed in GSM Arena. The other two variants are powered by Snapdragon 616. This makes Redmi 3S Prime better in term of performance.  The spacious internal storage and RAM also make 3S Prime a clear winner over Redmi 3.

Redmi 3S Prime is priced at around $134. Redmi 3 Pro price starts from $179 whereas Redmi 3 is priced at $104. Redmi 3S Prime falls in the middle of the pricing category but it already has everything that a mobile user could ever wish for - a compact smartphone with premium design and excellent specifications.
