Disney revealed a new animation series "Tangled: the Series" on the Disney Channel.

Rapunzel and Flynn "Eugene" Rider will be voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprising their roles respectively, alongside their sidekicks Pascal the Chameleon and palace horse Maximus and the Snuggly Duckling Pub Thugs. Other actors reprising their roles include M. C. Gainey (Captain of the Guards), Paul F. Tompkins (Shorty), and Jeffrey Tambor (Big Nose). According to Deadline, also set to appear are Ashley Judd, Richard Kind, Eden Espinosa, Clancey Brown, and Jeff Ross.

Mirror reported, the plot of the new series will take place between the feature film "Tangled" (2010) and the short film "Tangled Ever After" (2012). The story will revolve around Rapunzel as she acquaints herself with her parents, the people, and the kingdom of Corona.

Rapunzel realizes that there so much more to learn before accepting her royal responsibilities. She puts her marriage on hold after accepting her crown and set off on adventures being joined by Eugene. "Tangled: the Series" will also introduce a new character named Cassandra as Rapunzel's handmaiden and confidant.

One noticeable detail we see in the teaser is Rapunzel's got her long golden hair back. This should be explained as we saw her getting married to Eugene in "Tangled Ever After" sporting short-cropped hair. A surprise is in the offing for sure. Fans of the original "Tangled" are forewarned that "Tangled: the Series" will employ a stylized 2D animation style different from that of the 3D animation used feature film.

"Tangled: the Series" was developed by Chris Sonnenberg (Disney's Enchanted) and Shane Prigmore (The Lego Movie) for Disney Television Animation. The series which is currently in production will also feature brand new songs by Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken and lyricist Glenn Slater.
