Michael Bay's next robotic spectacle, "Transformers: The Last Knight," has already stirred a lot of buzz. Bay was blasted for using the former home of Winston Churchill as one of the set locations and decorating it with Nazi flags.

Bay's decision to transform the Blenheim Palace into what appears to be a Nazi headquarters is causing uproar among many, saying the act is offensive to the memory of the war hero. Other people, on the other hand, are confused as to how Nazi soldiers would play a part in "Transformers: The Last Knight."

In defense of the movie project, Bay stated that Churchill is actually depicted as a hero in the movie.

"I just want to say, people were not fortunate enough to read the script, and they don't know that Churchill in this movie is a big hero. And Churchill would be smiling about 'Last Knight,'" Collider quoted Bay as saying. "They haven't seen the movie, they don't know the ending, and they don't know how Churchill is a hero in this movie."

Nicholas Soames, Churchill's grandson, told The Guardian he finds the headlines about Churchill "preposterous" and "pathetic." Although he didn't exactly address the movie production itself, Soames was more concerned about how sensationalist media is attempting to depict his grandfather.

Meanwhile, "Transformers: The Last Knight" sees the return of Mark Walhberg as Cade Yeager. Also returning to the franchise are Stanley Tucci, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson. New to the cast are Anthony Hopkins and newcomer Isabela Moner.

Megatron and the Decepticons are also making a comeback. However, there's still no word as to the Dinobots viewers saw in "Transformers: Age of Extinction."

Bay is quiet on what "Transformers: The Last Knight" is exactly about, but it appears that some historical figures are popping up in the movie. Aside from Churchill's indirect involvement, King Arthur is also joining the show and the character is being portrayed by "Once Upon a Time" actor Liam Garrigan.

"Transformers: The Last Knight," which is the fifth movie in the "Transformers" franchise, is slated to be released on June 23, 2017.
