Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is a visionary who has become one of the world's richest people in such a short time. As of Sep. 2016, he is estimated to be worth a whopping $55 billion, according to Forbes.

Entrepreneur reported that the Facebook founder plans to put the Internet, which includes his social networking site, on every single person's device on Earth. Mark Zuckerberg and his team are continually experimenting with new technology such as geosynchronous low-earth orbit and satellites.

Zuckerberg has a similar vision to Bill Gates, who wants "to put a computer on every desktop and in every home." He admitted that he deemed the Microsoft CEO as his hero and as "one of the greatest visionaries that our industry has ever had."

"When I was growing up, Bill Gates was my hero," Zuckerberg said. "Bill Gates ran one of the most mission-driven companies I can think of. There are companies that define themselves by their way of doing things, like the HP Way, and there are companies that define themselves by making a concrete change in the world. Microsoft did that. It was an incredibly inspiring company."

Zuckerberg was one of the first 17 billionaires who participated in Bill Gates' Giving Pledge. It is "a commitment by the world's wealthiest individuals and families to dedicate the majority of their wealth to philanthropy."

Last year, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg also launched a global initiative named the Breakthrough Energy Coalition, as reported by The Verge. It is aimed to spur the private sector in investing in clean energy.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Virgin founder Richard Branson and Alibaba executive chairman Jack Ma are part of the organization as well. They will work with countries participating in Mission Innovation to facilitate "large funding commitments for basic and applied research." Investments were initially focused on "early stage companies that have the potential of an energy future that produces near zero carbon emissions and provides everyone with affordable, reliable energy."
