It's hard to determine which phone you need to buy when they seem to have the same specs. Here's a full review of Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4!

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Samsung Galaxy J7 2016: Design

The 2016 edition of Galaxy J7 weighs 170 grams and measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.8 mm. Redmi Note 4 is slightly heavier with 175 grams and thicker as well, with 151 x 76 x 8.4 mm of dimensions.

Redmi Note 4 gets MIUI 8 Xiaomi-built interface out of the box. What's great about Redmi Note 4 is the full-metal body and responsive fingerprint sensor at its back. Galaxy J7, on the other hand, is lacking of the premium feel when compared to Xiaomi's flagship. There is no fingerprint scanner in all of the J family because Samsung released the feature with the 2016 edition of Galaxy A series. It could be a deal breaker since many 2016 phones are equipped with such sensor to unlock the phones.

Both smartphones sport 5.5 inch display but Samsung packs Galaxy J7 with Super AMOLED screen. However, Redmi Note 4 is not far behind. In fact, it has sharp and crisp color production with its higher pixel resolutions of 1080 x 1920 pixels and higher pixel density (401 ppi), GSM Arena wrote.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Samsung Galaxy J7 2016: Hardware

There are two processor variants of Galaxy J7, Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 and Exynos 7870 Octa. The Octa-core CPU is paired with 2GB of RAM and one internal storage option, 16 GB.

Redmi Note 4 uses Mediatek MT6797 Helio X20 with its deca-core CPU paired with either 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB internal memory, or 3 GB of RAM with 64 GB internal memory.

In terms of performance, Mediatek MT6797 has more memory channels. This means that the data transfer that goes between CPU and memory is faster than Snapdragon 617.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Samsung Galaxy J7 2016: Camera

The Marshmallow devices sport 13 MP shooter with LED flash and touch focus features. The secondary camera packs 5 MP shooter. Galaxy J7 has more consistency in sharpness although it lacks details when taking pictures in a low-light condition.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 vs Samsung Galaxy J7 2016: Battery

Redmi Note 4 is more powerful with 4,000 mAh battery. Galaxy J7 only packs 3,300 mAh with no turbo-charging feature.
