Monday Night RAW's Brock Lesnar is slated to square off against "SmackDown Live's" Randy Orton in an inter-promotional match this Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn in the main event of "The Biggest Party of the Summer."

Samoa Joe will take on Shinsuke Nakamura for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver II: Brooklyn the Saturday before SummerSlam, but the "Samoan Submission Machine" has already set his eyes on a bigger game.

Joe opened up in a recent interview (reported by Forbes) noting that he hardly care about Conor McGregor, who he dubs as a "promoter." Nevertheless, he affirmed things would have been quite different if McGregor was in WWE.

Aside from indicating that he doesn't feel the need to address McGregor's verbal warfare with the World Wrestling Entertainment Inc., Joe cited "selfish reasons" for picking Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam 2016 over Randy Orton. Apparently, he wants Lesnar to stand tall until he gets a chance to go toe-to-toe with "The Beast Incarnate" in the four-sided ring.

The reigning NXT Champion already has the time and place decided for such an event: WrestleMania 33.

Joe has been in NXT for quite a long time and was not one of the six Superstars called up by the professional wrestling company for the Draft and recent brand extension. Finn Balor headlined the group of NXT stars that were called to the main roster. Balor is scheduled to square off against Seth Rollins for the recently-minted WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam 2016.

It won't be surprising if Joe is called up to the main roster in the near future and if his clarification about picking Brock over "The Apex Predator" Randy Orton is anything to go by, WWE Universe and wrestling fans could be in for an epic Samoa Joe Vs. Brock Lesnar showdown.

That being said, its quite feasible that WWE will work Nakamura and Joe for some more matches to facilitate a main roster debut at Royal Rumble in January, Inquisitr reported.

With this possibility in the offing, wrestling fans can leave their worry about Joe getting buried in the mid card hell behind. Nevertheless, this doesn't imply Vince McMahon will place Joe in with "The Beast" right from the beginning.
