Rio Olympic 2016 is a major gathering of global athletes with individual dreams, ambitions, expectations and the like, making it even more magnanimously anticipated. Thus, as it begins with a bang, it of course couldn't go without a bang so that injuries, fails and even a death report are only a leap away.

Here are the Top Shocking Reports with a "bang":

1. The first Rio Olympic-related death report is German canoe slalom coach Stefan Henze's sudden demise due to a car crash near the Rio Olympic park. He was rushed to the hospital with severe head injuries and some broken bones, Independent UK reported.

The 35-year was riding a taxi that eventually collided with a strong-standing barrier. Reported to share the ride with him was sports scientist Christian Kaeding. From that accident which occurred last Friday, surgeries ensued and vital signs were noted in Sunday. However, right at the German Olympic Committee's cold opening in Monday, the crowd was already embraced by grief for what followed was the announcement of the 2004 Olympic silver medalist coach's eventual death, Rio 2016 reported.

Kaeding on the other hand, survived with minor head injuries.

2. The world literally cringed over French gymnasts Samir Ait Said fractured tibia and fibula earned after what is remarked as shortage of momentum in his leap during the vaulting. Shown through a frame-by-frame slow motion capture, the epic injury committed by French gymnast Said is enough to channel out agony to the viewers, CNN reported.

3. Italian cyclist Vincenzo Nibali blood-soaks the injury list with his double-fractured collarbone. During his final descent in the August 7, 2016 cycling round, Nibali suddenly lost balance and slipped out on a corner alongside fellow cyclist Sergio Henao. By then, he was rushed back home for surgery and left only the slightest chance to contend again for a scheduled race. At the moment, his status reads DNF with no single medal won, Cycling News reported.

4. A very unlikely fail ever recorded from the events in the Rio Olympic 2016 is Japanese Pole vaulter Hiroki Ogita's aborted Olympic dream after being fouled by his own penis during the qualifying round. The 28-year old athlete was let down unexpectedly by his shin after almost a close call of 5.3 meter jump off the bar. With it touching the bar flat, Ogita had to say goodbye early to his Olympic dreams, New York Post reported.

The 12th Day and More

The Rio Olympics have had carried on the show with its 12th active day now. Scheduled sports for today are Badminton, Taekwondo, Golf, Canoe Sprint, Beach Volleyball, etc. Despite the flashes of horror and a lose promise of individual safety, athletes are rather bound to boost their focus, mental and physical condition, discipline and foresight, Rio 2016 again reported.
