Looks like a bad news for Dean Ambrose' fans as recently-surfaced rumors hint he will lose his championship title at WWE Battleground 2016.

When Dean Ambrose finally earned the WWE World Heavyweight championship last Sunday after cashing in the Money in the Bank briefcase on his former 'Shield' brethren, Seth Rollins, it was nothing short of a dream-come-true moment for the "Lunatic Fringe," however if the WWE rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, Ambrose is slated to lose the championship title at WWE Battleground 2016.

Seth Rollins shocked the entire WWE Universe at the Money in the Bank main event when he came off cleanly against his former friend and 'Shield' member, Roman Reigns to win the WWE championship for a second time. But Ambrose crashed the party attacking Rollins and cashing in to win the coveted WWE title.

However, it looks like the fun will not last too long as Ambrose will be losing the title very soon.

Regrettably for Ambrose and his huge fan base, he is not likely to be given an extended run as WWE champion and there is a chance that he might not walk out with the belt around his waist after his scheduled title defense at WWE Battleground 2016.

Ambrose will be defending his title in a Triple Threat Match against Rollins and Reigns, both former WWE champions, Cageside Seats reported.

The decision to have Rollins win the title from Reigns and then Ambrose cash in to win the title at Money in the Bank was reportedly a last minute change.

While the "Lunatic Fringe" has been at his entertaining best, the same cannot be said about his in-ring dominance - especially now that he represents the WWE championship - at least that's what a lot of officials believe.

This explains the speculations hinting Ambrose will drop the championship at WWE Battleground 2016. It remains to be seen if Roman Reigns recent suspension citing his Wellness Policy violation forces a reformulation of these plans though, SportsKeeda reported.

Interestingly, Reigns is still promoted as a part of the triple threat match for the WWE championship at Battleground. His suspension is scheduled to end on July 21, just three days before Battleground. If rumors doing rounds are anything to go by, Reigns tested positive for Amphetamines.

Do you think Dean Ambrose is representing the WWE championship well or the decision to discontinue his title run is right? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
