On Thursday, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers won a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Wildcats to get their first ever College World Series.

The CCU Chanticleers made a furious comeback attempt from the Wildcats to win Game 3 of the final series of the 2016 NCAA Baseball Tournament final round.

The Chanticleers clinched the College World Series in a nail-biter, as Coastal Carolina took the ninth inning lead 4-2, but Arizona Wildcats scored a run to make it 4-3 before they were wiped out by the CCU Chanticleers, My Fox 8 reported.

Since 1956, it's the first time that a team has won the College World Series in its first appearance, which adds that Minnesota was the last team to record the achievement, Goccu Sports reported.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers head coach Gary Gilmore stated they are not the most talented team in the United States, they are just the national champion, NPR reported.

Tampa Bay Rays' Taylor Motter, a baseball player from Coastal Carolina and currently on an active roster in Major League Baseball, was seen on a video via Twitter watching the Chanticleers vs Wildcats game during a stretching session on the field at Tropicana Field. As the final out was shown on Tropicana Field's big screen, Motter pulled off his Tampa Bay jersey to display the teal of a Chanticleers shirt underneath.

Andrew Beckwith, the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers pitcher, was named the most outstanding player of the 2016 College World Series.

However, Game 3 of the 2016 College World Series was originally set to fire up on Wednesday night, but due to bad weather the game was postponed until Thursday afternoon.

Despite with the forecast of more storms on  Thursday night, and with ESPN and ESPN2 under contract to broadcast Wimbledon and the Euro Cup - the digital television channel ESPNU telecast the most important college baseball game of the year at 1 p.m. ET, SB Nation reported.
