Cristiano Ronaldo scored two goals in the last game in Group F of the Euro 2016 competition, which ended in a 3-3 draw against Hungary. Portugal gaining an important draw to keep their title hopes alive.

Portugal barely held on to their title hopes with Hungary keeping them at bay. The Hungarian national team gained the lead three times during the match, but the Portuguese national team kept holding on, The Guardian reported.

Hungary's Zoltan Gera broke the deadlock at the 19th minute giving Portugal another hurdle to overcome. Portugal's first equalizer came on the 42nd minute when Ronaldo's assist to Nani resulted in a goal.

But Hungary was keen to make their presence known, despite without qualifying for a major tournament for the last 30 years.

Hungary has kept Portugal on their toes for the majority of the match, as they have gained the lead thrice during the game. Ronaldo became a key figure in the clash as the Real Madrid winger kept his teams title hopes by scoring two goals, according to UEFA.

Despite recording no wins, Portugal joins Group F winners Hungary in the final 16 of the Euro 2016 competition. Fernando Santos' side only managed to finish the group stages drawing all matches.

Hungary leads Group F by goal difference, with Iceland as runner-up. Portugal has to step up their game if they want a convincing Euro 2016 campaign as they have played poorly in the competition, so far.

As recent events have revealed, Ronaldo has defied critics once again despite the draw. Early in the competition, Ronaldo received criticisms over a handful of things, one being wrongly criticizing Iceland on their well deserved draw, and another claiming that he is one of the best players in the last 20 years, according to Sky Sports.

Ronaldo's actions led to harsh criticisms and tainted the winger's reputation, but despite his questionable decisions, the Portuguese striker still proves to be a key man in the competition.
