The three men responsible for the assault of NASCAR veteran driver, Mike Wallace, as well as his daughter were arrested by authorities on Saturday morning.

Wallace and his daughter were within the parking lot of Charlotte's PNC Pavilion when the three men assaulted them. Both had just come from a Rascal Flatts concert on Friday night, Fox Sports reported.

The assailants were reportedly drunk when the assault on Wallace took place. Linsdey Wallace Van Wingerden, Wallace's daughter, came to her father's aid according to witnesses.

Wingerden tried to shield her father from the blows of the three men. The assailants proceeded to assault Wallace's daughter as well, for which she was kicked severely in the mid-section.

It is currently unclear whether the three men were targeting the veteran driver in particular, or what their motives were. Wallace and Wingerden's medical status have yet to be disclosed to the public, according to Motorsport.

Wallace and his daughter reportedly fled the scene in a white truck bearing the logos of Lucas Landscaping.

The three assailants were arrested by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police. The three men were identified as 22-year-old Nathan Lucas from Indian Trail; 29-year-old Paul Lucas; and 24-year-old Randolph Mangum, both from Monroe.

The younger Lucas and Mangum are facing charges of simple assault, and was released on bonds costing $1,000 each. Meanwhile, the older Lucas is facing charges of assault on a female, and was released on a $1,500 bond, Complex reported.

The three assailants await their first hearing on July 22 at the Mecklenburg County District Court.

The veteran driver's brother, Kenny Wallace, posted on his facebook page about how he is "sick to [his] stomach" and tore up on regarding what has happened on Friday night. The Fox Sports analyst deems the event an unfair fight, where his brother was knocked out and outnumbered.

Wallace's brother stated that the veteran driver was continuously beaten even though it was evident that he was unconscious.
