It took a really long time since lasts year's expansion. But now, Bungie and Activision have finally divulged the next big reveal for their much awaited multiplayer shooter, "Destiny" update - 2016's "Rise Of Iron." Nothing like its past expansions, "Destiny: Rise Of Iron" will skip last-gen consoles and will exclusively be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

It is called "Rise of Iron," Destiny's new expansion which is in the same vein as last year's "The Taken King." Expect that there will be a new zone to the game, the frosty "Plaguelands," including new endgame raid, new mission narratives, a three-player "Strike" mission and a new enemy splinter group in the form of a mutated adaptation of the game's first nemeses, the insectoid scavengers tagged as "The Fallen." Additionally, there will also be growth for any expansion such as: new weapons and gear, a higher level cap et al, Wired reported.

"Rise of Iron's narrative has more potential than any new gameplay elements there is in the game. Back to the original "Destiny," its greatest weakness was its failure to use and make correspondence with the game's extensive lore, relegate most of its characters and narratives to trading cards that lived online. On the other hand, T"he Taken King" did a better job of tapping into the game's mythology and figures and incorporating them into players' daily adventures, Wired added. Conversely, if ever "Rise of Iron" could follow the same feat, it will have the power needed to sustain "Destiny" up to 2017 and beyond.

"Destiny: Rise of Iron" is the interplanetary shooter-MMORPG's next expansion which will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 20th for $30 USD, The Verge reported. This will be the first "Destiny" content that would not be released for last-gen consoles - the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
