Indiana introduced Nate McMillan at a news conference on Monday in Indianapolis as the new "Indiana Pacers" head coach. In the past three years, McMillan had been the top assistant to Frank Vogel who was declined to renew a contract after the team lost in Game 7 to the Toronto Raptors in the first round of the playoffs.

Indiana Pacers will be the third team to be headlined by McMillan whose coaching record includes a 0.497 percent of winning and advanced to the first round of the Western Conference playoffs in 2009, 2010 and 2011 but got fired from Portland Trail Blazers in 2012. He also led the Sonics to 52 regular season winnings and the conference semifinals in 2004 to 2005.

Meanwhile, "Indiana Pacers" President expects McMillan to make his team score more points than what the team has been scoring before. Pacers defense with assistant coach Dan Burke is consistent throughout the years. But the focus now must be about scoring points. If your defense is better, the team has to score as many and it would have to score as many as possible, Bird told ESPN.

Indiana Pacers will be McMillan's third head-coaching job in the NBA after his stints at Seattle and Portland. So, here are some of the pointers prior to his coaching reboot for the team in the next three years:

1. McMillan did not apply nor pursue the position. It was offered to him, he was the one pursued.

2. Like Vogel, McMillan will keep the same sized of coaching staff in his tenure.

3. His offense being the slowest in the game it was one of the most efficient. But brand new result is expected from him to uncover.

4. The Pacers will be having a real forward in the person of Monta Ellis.

5. Known to be tough in the past, he will tone down but tougher than Vogel.

6. Myles Turner will likely go forward as the new center.
