North Carolina head coach Roy Williams has had "vertigo attacks" in the past, but Tuesday night was the first time he experienced one during a game.

"I'm alive. I'm kicking," ESPN quoted Williams telling reporters after North Carolina's 68-65 win over Boston College. "I've had some vertigo attacks over the last 17 or 18 years. This is the first time I really had one during a game. I said something to the referee. I didn't respond correctly to his response. I kind of whirled around, and that's when it hit.

"Every attack that I've had is when I've jerked my head quickly."

During a timeout, Williams appeared to be yelling at someone on the court before he turned to his bench, at which point he fell to a knee. He left for the locker room afterward and did not return to the bench, stating he did not want to cause a "distraction." After the game, Williams did return to the court to shake hands with Boston College coach Jim Christian.

"For him to come back out and congratulate our kids on their effort speaks volumes as to why he's a Hall of Fame coach," Christian told reporters after the game, according to ESPN. "He really wanted to congratulate them, and deservedly so. Anybody who saw this game today saw a lot of heart, a lot of character."

It does not appear as if Williams will miss any time. North Carolina will be at home for its next three games and does not have a game until Saturday.
