Louisville ranked first in the list of top 10 college basketball fan base for the consecutive year, according to 2014 COLLEGE BASKETBALL FAN EQUITY RANKINGS released by Emory University's Marketing Analytics.

The Louisville Cardinals men's basketball team represents the men's college basketball program at the University of Louisville and participates in the Atlantic Coast Conference of NCAA Division I. Cardinals have overall won three NCAA championships (1980, 1986, 2013) and have advanced to Final Fours 10 times in 40 NCAA tournament appearances.

The list of college basketball fan base support across the "power" conferences (AAC, ACC, Big 12, Big 10, Big East, SEC, & PAC 12) are based on an analysis of self-reported revenue data, team quality, winning percentage, NCAA tournament qualification, market potential, conference affiliation, median income, area population and number of students among others.

Louisville is followed by Duke, Arizona, Texas and Xavier.

Duke's men's basketball team is considered to be one of the nation's most successful basketball programs. The team has overall secured four National Championships under Coach Mike Krzyzewski (often simply called "Coach K"). Overall, 72 players have been selected in the NBA draft.

The Arizona Wildcats basketball team competes in the Pacific-12 Conference of NCAA Division I. Arizona Wildcats are currently coached by Sean Miller. UA basketball program is also known as "Point Guard U"[3] because the school has produced successful guards like Steve Kerr, Damon Stoudamire, Khalid Reeves, Mike Bibby, Miles Simon, Jason Terry, Gilbert Arenas, Jason Gardner, Jerryd Bayless, among others.

Texas comprises of two college basketball programs - Texas Longhorns men's basketball and Texas State Bobcats. The Texas Longhorns men's basketball team competes in the Big 12 Conference. Head coach Rick Barnes has led the team to 15 NCAA Tournament appearances in his 16 seasons including a record fourteen consecutive appearances (1999-2012).
