'Quantico' Season 2: Episode 9 Will Not Air On Dec. 11; Show To Be Canceled? [Video]

"Quantico" Season 2 Episode 9 will not air in its regular time slot on Dec. 11 and will be replaced by "Secret and Lies."

"Quantico" will be on a holiday break and will return to the air on Jan. 23rd next year. In a Tweet, writers for the show said the show's return also places the show in a new timeslot, Monday's at 10 pm. The show will replace the slot currently occupied by "Conviction," according to TVLine.

The last episode "ODENVY" had Ryan Booth (Jake McLaughlin) meet his co-AIC recruits, later on, Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra) finds out that Ryan is actually one of the terrorists. It has been a running theory that Ryan is one of the terrorists all along, so the twist in itself is not that surprising to viewers.

But still, if Ryan was indeed on a mission, then that would make him not a terrorist and that his breakup with Alex is a big cover to spare her and jeopardizing his mission if Alex is going to continue poking holes in his every cover story.

If viewers were to nitpick about the midseason ending, it would be the proposal scene. Questions that are to be answered as the season continue on its new timeslot in January. The question now is will the show progress any further.

Meanwhile, cancellation rumors for "Quantico" are also floating. According to Variety, the show is rating poorly and attracting only less than 1% of the coveted 18-49 demographic in Nielsen's live-plus-same-day ratings. It did fairly well during its first season, though.

"Quantico's" rating has dropped significantly by 40.02 percent as compared to last season's average rating which pulled in an average of 2.836 million views. At this rate, it would not be farfetched to hear the show being axed soon. The relationship twist between Alex and Ryan in the last episode did not seem to shake things up.

Still fans of the series hope, the show can still be salvaged. "Quantico" returns on the air Monday nights, at 10 pm, beginning January 23 on ABC.
