Flour brand, General Mills, made an announcement on Monday, that it has recalled its products due to a new E. coli outbreak report.

Previously, CDC reported that there are four more people in Wisconsin and Minnesota, have developed sickness due to the flour. CDC also stated a patient suffering from kidney failure due to the severe illness caused by E. coli infection.

E. coli symptoms include diarrhea, fever, stomach ache, and vomiting. It could last from days to week with elderly or very young patients are prone to risk of infection. For the record, last year's E. coli outbreak caused illness to a one-year-old baby.

General Mills' brands being recalled due to E. coli outbreak

CDC announced the E. coli flour brands which were produced at General Mills' factory in Kansas City, Missouri, UH News reported. The brands are Gold Medal and Signature Kitchens. The federal agency said that the plant is 'a likely source of E. coli outbreak'. Previously, CDC has issued warning to recall the flour products after it has sickened more than 40 people in 21 states.

General Mills flour recall due to E. coli bacteria is linked to the consumers who ate uncooked batter such as raw cookie dough. The company also encouraged the public to check their pantry for any of the products:

- Signature Kitchens

- Betty Crocker Delights cake mix

- Gold Medal Wondra

- Gold Medal All Purpose & Unbleached Flour

FDA strictly warns the consumption of raw cookie dough as it can contain harmful strains of E. coli bacteria. CNN reported that in June, General Mills already pulled out more than 10 million pounds of flour from the shelves and the new cases have made the recall expanded.
