After the 5-1 trouncing at the hands of the Netherlands, Spain must recover quickly if they want to defeat Chile and salvage their World Cup.

The Group B match will take place at the World Cup final venue, the defending champions failed to convince anyone that they will be there on July 13 after their loss to the Netherlands on Friday. The team may be down, but they are certainly not out, CBS News reported.

Spain lost their opening in the 2010 World Cup, but they came back stronger than a powered-up Pac-Man and won six straight including a 2-1 group stage victory over Chile, CBS News reported.

The defending champion's history of never losing to Chile further tips the odds in their favor.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Spain has eight wins and two draws to boast about in their history with Chile.

On the other hand, Chile defeated Australia 3-1 Friday. They started off great against the "Socceroos," scoring two goals in the opening 15 minutes before "allowing the Socceroos to keep it close until stoppage time," SB Nation reported.

If Spain's national soccer team performs like it did on Friday, Chile could take this one.

However, the Daily Telegraph reported that Spain's coach Vicente del Bosque is expected to make substantial changes in the starting line-up after the 5-1 defeat by Netherlands last week.

Under del Bosque, who took over after Euro 2008, Spain has never lost two games in a row.

According to Weather.com, the city of Rio De Janeiro will reach the mid-70s. An isolated shower or thunderstorm may try to develop near the end of the game.

The head referee will be Mark Geiger. One fellow American, a Canadian and a Bahraini will serve as his three assistants.
