Let's take a look at some.

1: Understand the Concepts

Everyone knows you can't build a house if the foundation isn't strong. The same goes for math. You can memorize all the formulas and rules but if you don't have a strong understanding of mathematical concepts you are going to have a hard time the higher up you go.

So, by making sure you really get each concept before moving on to the next one.

2: Practice Makes Perfect

If you find you are struggling to understand a problem or concept, practice it. A lot of times your teacher will assign you practice problems in class so they can assist you and other students as needed. Do these so you can ask questions if need be and get extra help early on.

Also, don't be afraid to get help if you need it. Many schools have after school tutoring labs you can drop in on. They are a great way to get individual attention.

3: Make Math Part of Your Daily Life

You have heard the phrase "use it or lose it"? Well, this applies to math too. So try to come up with situations where you would need to use math skills you have learned.

Try to figure out the price of things on sale. Tamper with recipes to either make larger or smaller batches. Figure out when you need to leave to get someplace by calculating speed and distance.

4: Go Online

If you can't make it to after school tutoring, there are plenty of ways to get math help online. Whether it is watching videos on mathematical concepts or doing practice questions to make sure you really understand the concepts, you are sure to find something to help.

Plus, there are tons of online tutoring platforms. These work great because you can schedule them whenever you need them and don't have to worry about missing a lesson. So, whether it is just getting a little extra help on a question you don't understand or hour long sessions several times a week, online tutoring can be great way to get some extra help whenever it is convenient for you.

5: Don't Rush It

Just like any skill, it can take time to learn. So don't rush it. Really make sure you have each concept down before you move on to the next one.

Even if it feels like you have it down, go over it a few more times, just to make sure. And remember, revision is your friend. By revisiting ideas and old lessons you help to solidify the knowledge you have.
