Who can say no to a hearty breakfast meal? Every college student who lives in the dormitory wishes they could get their favorite home-cooked meal within arm's reach. It is important for them to eat breakfast to help refuel the body after sleep, especially when they stayed up late to study hard for an exam. A good breakfast will always be an excellent upper.

And yet, about 30% of university students skip this meal. Some use their early class time as an excuse, while others simply don't know what to prepare. Students don't have to go through a tedious process of preparing breakfast. Some terrific breakfast ideas can be prepared ahead of time while some are conveniently prepared to be eaten on the go.

Here are five breakfast essentials every university student should have:

  • Eggs

Eggs are a staple breakfast food. They are easy to prepare, versatile, and packed with essential nutrients and protein. They help build muscles and tissues in the body. Eggs are also an excellent source of antioxidants like zeaxanthin and lutein, both of which benefits brain and eye health. Egg and vegetable muffins, Eggs in a hole and Ham and cheese frittata are just some of the tasty recipes a student can make with their eggs.

  • Berries

Berries are healthier when served with the French Toast. Simply, get two slices of bread, dip it in milk then heat it on the pan with butter. Slice the berries and that's it. Not only is this breakfast meal easy to prepare, but it is also one of the healthiest options. The student is getting the much-needed carbohydrates for energy, butter for a little healthy oil in the body, milk for protein, and berries for a variety of nutrients. It's simple yet perfect.

  • Whole Grains

Whole grains should be part of every breakfast meal. Brown rice, quinoa, and whole wheat are healthier than refined grains as they are rich in protein, fiber, and vitamins and minerals. Overnight oats are the kind of whole-grain breakfast that can be prepared ahead of time. Simply put the oats in a jar the night before. You may add almonds, berries, or mangoes to make the oats more interesting. With a little milk, your breakfast is ready to go.

  • Smoothie

A smoothie for breakfast is simply perfect and easy to prepare. Breakfast smoothies mean putting all the nutrients you need in one jar. It's also the perfect way to add fruits and vegetables to one's diet. Drinking breakfast from the jar used to be a novel idea, but for college students, this could work very well. Preparing a smoothie is also easy and enjoyable, but drinking it while you are hurrying to class is downright convenient and satisfying.

  • Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables for breakfast promise to be really good. Studies show that students who include vegetables and fruits in their regular diet are saved from diseases like high blood pressure and heart complications. It can be a bowl filled with slices of fruits in season, chilled the night before. It can also be a busy student's breakfast on the go.

Eating breakfast is essential to keep the mind working. Every college student knows the value of a sound mind while studying new theories and discoveries in school. With these cool breakfast ideas, no student will miss out on a good meal when they can take it on the go.
