Asus Zenfone 3s Max Update: Features Hefty 5000 mAh Battery, Android 7.0 Nougat; Zenfone 3s Max Rivals iPhone’s Battery Capacity, Performance?

By

Asus has recently launched a new smartphone under the Zenfone series, which is expected to focus on higher performance and longer battery life - owing to its big 5000 mAh battery.

After the successful release of the Zenfone 3 Max in November 2016, an upgraded version of the smartphone has been released in India, dubbed as the Zenfone 3s Max. If customers have been amused with the Zenfone 3 Max's hefty 4000 mAh battery, the new Zenfone 3s Max headlines its upgraded battery unit that could rival iPhone's battery capacity.

The key selling point of Asus Zenfone 3s Max lies on its large 5000 mAh battery. Under heavy usage, the device could last to two days with constant 4G or Wifi connectivity. The full capacity of this battery can even be extended through the normal power saving mode installed in the device. The Zenfone 3s Max also supports reverse charging, whereas the device can serve as a power bank to charge other devices using an OTG adapter.

According to India Times, this mid-range smartphone also ships the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. The latest OS features improved notification, split screen function, double tap recent button to go back to the previous app, revamped quick toggles and rich information showing settings menu. Topping up the Nougat firmware is Asus' own Zen UI skin that enables users to tweak and customize their phones without using third-party apps.

Outside, the Zenfone 3s Max comes out with a metal unibody and rounded edges while its display features a 2.5 glass, Android Headlines reported. It sports a 5.2-inch 720p screen which covers excellent viewing angles and rich colors. Under the hood, the smartphone is fueled by the MediaTek MT6750 64-bit octa-core processor, along with the Mali-T860 GPU for graphics. It features a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of external storage onboard.

On the camera front, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel primary rear camera coupled with Led flash, as well as an 8-megapixel front snapper sits on the front panel. On another note, the Zenfone 3s Max offers two SIM card slots (2 x nano SIM).

The Zenfone 3s Max is released in two color variants - Black and Gold color options. It is pegged at a price of Rs. 14,999 ($223) in India, which can be purchased both offline and online retailers all over the country.
