"Deadpool 2" will add a bunch of new characters, but there will be no "X-Men" cameos or even A-lister superheroes to join fan-favorite, the Merc with the Mouth. Moreover, fans are speculating over a new Instagram photo showing the "Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds with Hugh Jackman and Pierce Brosnan, who is reportedly playing Cable.

"Deadpool 2" has actually been in the works long before the first made it big in the box-office. The first "Deadpool" is reported to be the highest-grossing R-rated movie with $783 million earnings worldwide.

"Deadpool 2" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who are also responsible for the first movie's success, are currently finalizing the multiple drafts of the sequel. Fox targets filming for the 2018 release to start this year with an unconfirmed report indicating productions slated for summer 2017 in the same location in Vancouver.

Post-credits scene of the first "Deadpool" has shown Merc with the Mouth addressing the audience and confirming the inclusion of the iconic Z-Force leader Cable in "Deadpool 2." Fans are now voicing out their wish list in the Cable casting with actors like Kyle Chandler and Pierce Brosnan being mentioned.

However, Reynolds may be dropping hints as to who will play Cable as fans react to his Instagram photo showing the "Deadpool" star with Jackman from "Wolverine" and Brosnan from "James Bond 007." Fans now think that Brosnan may be playing Cable, the supporting character in "Deadpool 2" according to the Nerdist.

Early on, it has been confirmed by Fox that "Deadpool" will be part of the X-Men Movie Universe. Fans naturally expected to see more "X-Men" characters making cameos in "Deadpool 2," but Jackman already ruled out the inclusion of Wolverine. Moreover, writers have been insisting that the sequel will not be an "Avengers" team-up type of movie, but a solo one for Deadpool.

Reese and Wernick in "Deadpool 2" will feature other characters related to the X-Men as it did with the first, but they revealed that there will be no "X-Men" cameos as reported by MovieWeb. X-men related characters like Colossus (Stefan Kapicic) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildenland) were already introduced in the first "Deadpool."

As to the release of "Deadpool 2," there are no official dates, but it can be surmised that it will be one of the scheduled releases of Fox. As of present, Fox will release Marvel movies on March 2, 2018, June 29, 2018, and Nov. 2, 2018.
