"Stranger Things" Season 2 will have a bigger cast with several new additions for both major and supporting roles, while recurring characters are now promoted to series regulars. The Duffer Brothers, creators and showrunners, have also revealed the nine episode titles along with teaser trailers giving viewers a glimpse of what to expect.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 Cast
There will be new major characters added to "Stranger Things" Season 2. This include Sadie Sink as Max, a tough but suspicious girl. Another is Dacre Montgomery as Billy, the unpredictable overly-confident older step-brother of Max. There will also be recurring characters turned into series regulars like Joe Kerny as Steve Harrington and Noah Schnapp as Will Byers.
Other cast additions for "Stranger Things" Season 2 include Sean Astin (Bob Newby), Paul Reiser (Dr. Owens), Linnea Berthelson (Roman), and Mr. Gelman (Murray Bauman) who may have a significant role as a disgraced journalist turned conspiracy-theorist. Bauman may find his way to Hawkins and even give a clue to Barb's disappearance, which fans lament was largely ignored in season 1 according to Den of Geek.
"Stranger Things" Season 2 Story
What is known so far about "Stranger Things" Season 2 is that it will take place in the Fall of 1984. Last season was set in November 1983.
The gates to other dimension still exist in the small town of Hawkins in Indiana, but the new season may now bring viewers on an excursion outside of town.
The Duffer brothers and the cast revealed a darker and scarier "Stranger Things" Season 2. There will be a return trip to the Upside Down so viewers can expect more bizarre creatures skulking about. Moreover, executive producer Shawn Levy in an interview with Vanity Fair mentioned that the threat to Will Byers will still continue to grow. Last season, Will threw up a slug, indicating that the character may turn into a monster as teased by Schnapp.
