‘Injustice 2’ News & Updates: New Gear System Revolutionizes Customization; New Characters Addition Crossovers From Other Comic Book Series [REPORT]

By

"Injustice 2" will be featuring a new gear system, where winning battles can reward a character with special gear that may even alter the appearance of the fighter, a revolutionary way of customization in a fighting game. Moroever, NetherRealm Studios creative director, Ed Boon hints of new character additions similar to the "Mortal Kombat" crossovers in the past, revealing that other characters may be taken from other comic book series other than DC.

The sequel to the popular "Injustice: Gods Among Us" is highly anticipated by gamers who have enjoyed the previous title. It will still be several months before NetherRealm officially announces the "Injustice 2," but Boon has been actively hinting information on what fans can expect about the new game, which are now listed below.

"Injustice 2" Gear System

The "Injustice 2" Gear System will copy RPG-like game mechanics where winning battles can reward characters with special gears. The gears can make attacks stronger, allow the character to go faster or boost health.

Moreover, the "Injustice 2" Gear System does not only alter the fight strategy of the character, but also the appearance, which is a revolutionary way of customizing characters in a fighting game. Every time a character is geared up, a player can make his own Aquaman unique from all the other Aquamans of other players, EGMNow has learned.

 "Injustice 2' New Characters

NetherRealm has confirmed the following "Injustice 2" characters like Atrocitus, Aquaman, Blue Beetle, Batman, The Flash, Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Gorilla Grodd, Superman, Supergirl and Wonder Woman. Boon has also hinted new additions similar to the "Mortal Kombat" crossovers like the "Watchmen" from the graphic novel of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons or characters from "Spawn" of Todd MacFarlane, Den of Geek reported.

"Injustice 2" Release Date

Based on the first game release, "Injustice 2" may be released by March or April 2017. However, this may be pushed back to October or at an even later date after the SAG-AFTRA strike of the voice actors. Nowadays, most sites list the game's release as TBD 2017 and it has been notably absent in the December PSX show despite the attendance of Warner Bros. Interactive entertainment.
