By

Xiaomi recently came out with the Xiaomi Mi Mix, an 5  edgeless smartphone concept that can actually be purchased. The Xiaomi Mi Mix flaunts a 6.4-inch 1080p LCD bezel-less curved display that occupies 91.3 percent of the phone front for its screen that is said to have similar designs to the iPhone 8.

According to The Verge, Xiaomi might have pre-empted the design concept of the iPhone 8 reportedly to have the same front almost bezel-less design. However, a new phone model from Xiaomi has surfaced, which upped the ante of the Xiaomi Mi Mix - this one is called the Xiaomi Mi6 Mix.

Specs

What is different with Xiaomi Mi6 Mix is that it will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with full bezel-less design. 100 percent screen to body ratio, making the front of the unit sport an edge-to-edge curved screen, a bold design concept no one has done before. The top of the line iPhone 8 will feature a 5-inch OLED screen with 2,560 x 1,440-screen resolution, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Xiaomi Mi6 Mix would be powered by a Snapdragon 835 with 6GB of RAM with reports of internal storage of 128GB to 256GB. iPhone gets a11 Fusion chip, said to be smaller yet 30-40 percent faster and consuming less power compared to the A10, with 4GB of RAM.

As for their cameras, the Xiaomi Mi6 Mix will feature a 16MP rear camera and another unique feature is its 8MP retractable front camera. The iPhone 8 on the other hand, will have either a dual-lens or dual vertical cameras. Both phones will reportedly feature wireless charging but the Xiaomi Mi6 Mix will have a 4,000-mAh battery that has fast-charging capability that gives the phone 60 percent power from zero in just 30 minutes.

Pros and Cons

Design wise, Xiaomi is known for its bold concepts while Apple has always been on the traditional side. Performance wise, Apple wins where Xiaomi falls short, which is forgivable considering the third factor, is the price. Xiaomi Mi6 Mix will reportedly cost $370-$440 where iPhone 8 could go as high as $900-$1000 for the premium model.
