The year 2016 has always been a great year for most of the tech world's mobile applications. As expected by many, Niantic's mobile hits Pokemon Go top the list of the coolest mobile apps for 2016.

Pokemon Go for Android and iOS
Pokemon Go is an Android and iOS free-to-play, location-based augmented reality game developed by Niantic Labs for Android and iOS powered devices. Pokemon Go mobile app was the result of the long collaboration works between Niantic Lab and Japanese gaming giant Nintendo. The mobile app has been the most played and most talked mobile app of 2016. It uses the device's GPS tech to locate, catch, battle and even train virtual creatures called Pokemon, who appear on the device's screen as if they were in the same real-world location as the users.

Android Auto for Android
Android Auto top the list for coolest apps this year. The Android-based mobile apps provide Google smartphone users a safer way of using mobile devices while driving. According to Android Central, the app, which can be used either on the smartphone or a compatible car display, casts a Google Now interface onto car's infotainment display via USB. It's the search giant's own way of bringing the power of the smartphone to the relatively dumb nature of vehicle infotainment. Originally announced at Google I/O 2014 event, Android Auto is the counterpart to Apple's CarPlay.

Dropbox Paper for Android and iOS
Dropbox Paper, which just came out of its beta status this year, is a collaboration app for remote teams and for document management. It provides fast-moving teams the ability to work together on the same documents at the same time, find important information, while on the go. Any updates, changes, or feedback done to the documents will also be synced with the same documents.

SharePoint for iOS
For the first time in its mobile business history, US-based software giant Microsoft has launched a mobile app version of its SharePoint workplace collaboration app for the iPhone users. The business-focused mobile app is said to provide business users and IT professionals with site activities and files from Microsoft SharePoint Online, and also from Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 and 2016 software versions. Among the other features is access to important links, such as the user's company intranet, and information on a user's co-workers (with photos) to browse.

Bear for iOS
For some iPhone and iPad users who still searching for a better note-taking experience, Bear could be a good answer. Bear is a new, flexible writing app for doing quick notes and in-depth essays. It features a focus mode that could help user concentrate on their works. There's also an advanced markup option and full in-line image support to bring user's writing works to life. According to SlashGear, Bear could be a good alternative to other note-taking apps because it's simpler than Evernote and still have lots to offer than the iPhone's native Notes app.
