Nvidia Silently Leaks New GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 4K Graphics Card On LinkedIn Job Listing, Nvidia To Wait For AMD Vega Release Before Taking Its Next Move

By

While Intel is readying for the upcoming CES 2017 event and AMD is busy preparing for the release of its next-gen AMD Ryzen, Nvidia is still working hard to keep its lead in the highly lucrative GPU market before arch rival AMD launches an assault next year. The GPU powerhouse has officially confirmed its latest salvo in the GPU battle, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card.

According to Trusted Review, Nvidia has finally revealed to the world the existence of its flagship GTX 1080 Ti graphics card a little earlier than its planned debut, with some media reports citing a LinkedIn job listing that names the Nvidia GTX1080 Ti graphics card.

According to Digital Trends, the recent job listing posted by the company on LinkedIn is currently looking for a qualified applicant. The news is notable because it clearly lists an unannounced Nvidia hardware, the upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card. It's not an intentional leak or some sort of accidental leak, it's more like a product clue, hinting that something big is coming next year. Interestingly, the LinkedIn job listing has now been removed.

Even more interesting, the LinkedIn job listing has also revealed what Nvidia calls "Club GeForce Elite" and also mentioned a potential upgrade offer for the Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti owners, thus confirming the existence of the Nvidia hardware. Also in the LinkedIn job listing, Nvidia has also mentioned about reward codes for free games being given to those who report bugs in Nvidia's core products.

GeForce GTX 1080 Ti For 4K Gaming

Playing video games at 4K and 60 frames per second is quite difficult these days. This is due to the fact that most modern games are not fully optimized for doing 4K gaming. The best known 4K gaming card right now in the market is the Nvidia GTX 1080, which said to come with around 7.2 billion transistors.

However, Nvidia's upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Ti would be much more terrifying more powerful. Latest reports said it will likely come with 12 billion transistors, a big bump in the previous build.

For now, the crowd knows nothing of about how many teraflops GTX 1080 Ti could push, but the latest rumored specs include a base clock of 1503MHz and 3,328 CUDA cores, with 10GB of video RAM on board.

Nvidia would definitely have long-term plans for its latest graphics card. Nemesis AMD is coming fast, working on the scheduled release of its AMD Vega, possibly in the first or second quarter of 2017.

Nvidia strategy would be simple here, the GPU stalwart would probably wait until it has an idea what Vega performance will look like before making its next move. Nvidia is well-positioned in choosing the best battleground, it can respond with a higher-end GTX 1080 Ti if Vega is particularly competitive, or go with a lower end card.

As for the release date, Nvidia is expected to unveil its next gaming beast at the upcoming CES 2017 event.
