‘The Escapists’ Acquires Free Jingle Cells Update; New Festive Map Also Added [VIDEO]

"The Escapists" will get the Free Jingle Cells update soon. It will also get a new festive map with new features and items.

"The Escapists" upcoming free Jingle Cells update

According to the official website of Steam, game developer Mouldy Toof Studios and publisher Team17 has announced that their strategy, prison simulation video game "The Escapists" will get its free content with the update. This is to celebrate the festive season of the year, which will be through the Jingle Cells update and it will be available on Dec. 8.

"The Escapists" new update details

Players will be playing Buddy, the escapee elf from last year's Christmas DLC. He has lost the control of his sleigh on his escape from Santa's sweatshop, and has crash landed in the grounds of Frosty Pines Prison instead. This time around, he will have to explore the new prison, collect new unique items in it, and craft the parts need to repair his sleigh to make another getaway.

"The Escapists" new festive map

The game developers revealed that the game will feature a new wintery themed prison map. It will have 20 new items and craftables for players to collect all over the new map. It will also have a new leaderboard to make their mark on.

"The Escapists 2" announced

In other "The Escapists" related news, "The Escapists 2" was revealed recently. According to another post on the official website of Steam, the developers proudly stated that the first thing that players will notice is the new visuals. The prison maps will look better and it will have a deeper variety of character customization.

Another feature added to "The Escapists 2" is the team up feature, which lets the players cooperate with up to three players in both co-op and competitive modes. They can play the game locally and online, and can drop in and drop out the multiplayer feature.
