A new streak of hope filled fans of the hit game "The Last of Us" after an insider made an exciting post.

"The Last of Us" is seen as a masterpiece with an unprecedented popularity in PlayStation games for more than a decade following its release, and now, rumors about "The Last of Us 2" being underway continue to resurface, although no details have been officially released by the game developer yet.

However, an insider which goes by the name Shinobi602 bombed shocking news for gamers via Neogaf, wherein he said that the first look of "The Last of Us 2" might not take longer as fans expect it to be. Accordingly, the first trailer of the game will be part of the PlayStation Experience 2016 which is happening very soon.

The PlayStation Experience has always been Sony's best platform where big titles in the gaming world are exclusively promoted and fans expect that a news will come out about "The Last of Us 2."

Fans also believe that Naughty Dog will work on "The Last of Us 2" after the official release of equally anticipated downloadable content for "Uncharted 4," which is set to be released in December.

It can be remembered that Naughty Dog executive Neil Druckmann previously hinted that even if "The Last of Us" was intended as a one-time game, they are considering a sequel of the game after the success of its first release.

Taking the game developer's claim that it took them almost three years to finish the original "The Last of Us," fans speculate that the next installment of the game will probably be released after about the same years, which entails that it is highly probable to be released in 2020 or 2021. If that happens, fans believe that it is also highly probable that the game will be available in Virtual Reality (VR) mode.

Aside from rumors that developers plan to retain the remarkable features of "The Last of Us," no new update is yet leaked about the features of the anticipated new installment of a post-apocalyptic game.
