Not all of the famous people we've known have always been members of the elite class, some of them actually started somewhere from taking a weird job before they were able to make a name and become popular.

Here are the surprising and unbelievable careers of  9 famous people before making it big.

President Obama

The US President used to work Baskin-Robbins in highschool. According to the report he wrote in LinkedIn, "Scooping ice cream is tougher than it looks.Rows and rows of rock-hard ice cream can be brutal on the wrists.

Mariah Carey

Just like other celebrities who had many jobs, the "Dreamlover" hitmaker used to be a hat checker. However, she couldn't seem to stay long in her jobs and always get fired because she was busy concentrating on being a back-up singer and mixing demos, according to IMDB.

Kanye West

The rapper used to work at the Gap, according to Life Buzz.

Rachel Mcadams

"The Notebook" star used to work at McDonalds and was not really a very good employee, she admitted. She even once broke an orange juice machine.

Vince Vaugn

The comedy actor used to be a lifeguard at the YMCA where he once helped an older patron who was drifting farther in the deeper end of the pool.
