Google Nexus 7 Android Nougat Update

According to Global News, the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update can now be unofficially installed in a Google Nexus device through custom ROM developed by AICP developers team, specially made for the Google Nexus 7 (2013).

AICP, also called as the Android Ice Cold Project, brought the latest Android Nougat-based firmware on the flagship tablet with all the Nougat features, including battery optimization, split screen, revamped interface, performance tweaks, exclusive themes, and other value-added features, MobiPicker has learned.

However, the new Nougat custom ROM is an experimental version and may contain bugs in it. So, users and tech enthusiasts should try the new software at their own risk.

Installing Google Nexus 7 Android Nougat Custom ROM - Things to remember

Google Nexus 7 users trying to get in the Android Nougat update via custom ROM technique should be aware that the device will lose the warranty upon performing the installation.

To fully administer the latest Android Nougat update, here are the things to remember when installing the Custom ROM:

  • After installing custom ROM users will no longer be liable to provide updates in future [users can restore warranty by flashing the device with stock-ROM].
  • Device must be rooted before custom ROM installation.
  • New Android Nougat custom ROM series has to be installed on Google Nexus 7 LTE (aka Deb) and Wi-Fi only (aka Flo) 2013 series models only
  • Installation of custom ROM requires a lot of empty memory in the tablet.
  • USB driver should be installed in the PC.
  • Device should have more than 80 percent battery as installation require so much of battery.

Final installation steps of AICP unofficial Android 7.0 Nougat customs ROM on Google Nexus 7 (2013) models:
