It has been five years since fans of the widely-acclaimed video game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," were exposed and immediately enthralled by the game's vast open-world, customization, and rich story-line. As such, avid fans of Bethesda's hit franchise are keen on the latest update and news as to whether or not the production of "The Elder Scrolls 6" is in the works, as noted by sources.

Regardless of the numerous rumors that have been circulating around, the latest update points out that there is still that possibility that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will be released sometime in the future.

It was reported that the idea of having another installment to the popular game-franchise was not dismissed outright by Bethesda's Vice President, Pete Hines, in an interview conducted during the launch of the "Elder Scrolls Online," Digital Spy reported.

In that same interview, Hines said that they might be releasing a "Skyrim 2" in a few years or so. But, he went on to explain that Bethesda's view, when it comes to releasing installments to its successful franchises, is that they always try to ascertain that what they do is something remarkable, according to the same publication.

As such, it might take longer than usual until the next installment goes into production, as the Digital Spy pointed out. Although fans of the game are well aware of the gaps between the releases of the game's previous installments, Bethesda's Todd Howard has stated that production on "The Elder Scrolls 6" is still a long way off.

It was also mentioned by Digital Spy that Todd Howard even went on to state that Bethesda is actually focused on two other projects that they have, "The Evil Within" and "Rage," which garnered a lot of success for both to earn their respective sequels.

In an interview by Digital Spy, Howard pointed out that Bethesda is working on two other large projects and that they might be some of the biggest things they've done. He also expressed that consumers and fans alike might actually hear news about those even before any details would be released regarding development on "The Elder Scrolls 6."

Also, other news and sources pointed out a tweet by Bethesda's Vice President of marketing that the game is currently not in development, as stated by Push Square.

Regardless of what the news and latest update are about "The Elder Scrolls 6," fans are still hopeful for the next installment to be released sometime soon.
