MacBook Pro 2016 Release Date, Specs, News: Apple May Ditch Traditional USB Ports; Apple Will Discontinue 11-inch MacBook Air [VIDEO]

Apple Inc. has long been rumored to be gearing up in launching an updated MacBook Pro model this year; however, the new MacBook Pro may not come along with the traditional USB ports and the tech company's MagSafe charging connector.

Since Apple might be ditching traditional USB ports and the MagSafe charging connector, this may surprise potential MacBook Pro users, but it's the same strategy that the tech company used in its 12-inch MacBook, The Verge reported.

Even so, while recent rumors have suggested that the new MacBook Pro may arrive at an event on Oct. 27, the company might also unleash a refreshed 13-inch MacBook Air at the same time, Macotakara has learned.

Meanwhile, the Cupertino-based tech company is said to discontinue the 11-inch MacBook Air model. It has been said that Apple would let the smaller Air model go down the drain for the reason that the device has been made effectively redundant by the 12-inch MacBook.

That being said, editor in chief of tech site Anandtech, Ryan Smith, stated that Apple should have done the ditching a long time ago, as most models are full price yet years out of date, which makes purchasing old models bad investments for consumers, according to Forbes.

Nevertheless, MacBook Pro 2016 is said to feature an OLED touch-sensitive display, as well as a dynamic set of function keys and OLED display. Also, the upgraded feature of the MacBook Pro 2016 focuses on the USB ports and the Touch ID fingerprint identity sensors.

Apple is said to incorporate the option for AMD's latest Polaris graphics processor in MacBook Pro 2016. The MacBook Pro 2016 is slated to be a whole lot slimmer and will come along with a much flatter keyboard. Rumor has it that the new MacBook Pro 2016 will ship with Mac OS 10.12.1.
