2018 Chevrolet Equinox Showcasing More Modern, Lighter Compact Crossover With Available Turbocharged Diesel

By

General Motors Co. launched the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox on Thursday, and the most-hyped vehicle showcased a more modern, lighter compact crossover. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox also comes along with a turbocharged diesel, which is the first for the segment in North America.

The vehicle manufacturer decided to unleash the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox on the day of the autumn equinox at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, which was attended by 200 dealers and members of the media. Chicago is one of the best places to market the crossover.

The Detroit, Michigan based automaker claimed that the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox, which is Chevy's second-best-selling vehicle and up for grabs in the United States in the spring, drops about 400 pounds and is four inches shorter compared to its predecessor, according to Detroit News.

GM President Alan Batey stated that they needed to develop a vehicle that allowed them to check off every box. The company is looking for technology, safety and a beautiful design in a versatile, efficient package. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox definitely promises to deliver on all fronts.

As claimed by the American online resource for automotive information, Edmunds Inc., the latest Equinox is an important product for General Motors in what has become the biggest part of the United States market, in which the vehicle manufacturer gets most of its sales and profits, based on the report of US News.

However, as the Equinox looks wise, the vehicle follows along similar lines as the Volt, as well as the Cruze and other new Chevrolet models. As LED daytime running lights are standard, the taillights on the other hand, are only available on higher trims.

For a better view from the driver's seat, the windshield base of the Equinox is lower. Pricing of the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is yet to be announced, CNET reported.
