The dust has finally settled down when iPhone 7 has been released to the public. Perfect time it is to move the spotlight to the upcoming "Google Nexus 2016" phones called Pixel and Pixel XL which are known as the fastest smartphone. With HTC and Huawei as rumored manufacturers, Pixel phones are surely iPhone 7 potential killer.

Business Insider confirmed Google's killing off Nexus brands and give birth to another name for phones called Pixel. This year's model of Google Nexus 2016 is packed with outstanding features and specs that would make it as the fastest smartphone ever.

Leaked Specs

Android Authority made a wild guess about the physical design of Pixel phones. They strongly believe that the smaller Pixel with 5.0-inch screen will be entirely made of aluminum and glass. While, there are no information for Pixel XL with 5.5-inch screen.

Business Insider reported that two "Google Nexus 2016" phones will be more powerful as they rumored to be powered by either Snapdragon 820 processors or the upgraded version called Snapdragon 821.

It is also stated in the report of Business Insider that the rear camera will have a resolution of 12 megapixels whereas the front will be 8 megapixels.

For the screen display, Pixel XL will sport a super-sharp 2K screen. On the other hand, the smaller one or the Pixel will have a regular 1080p screen.

There is nothing to worry when it comes to audio because "Google Nexus 2016" phones will retain the headphone jack. However, micro USB will be eliminated in favor of USB-C for faster charging and data transfer.

Both phones will have 32GB storage and a 3450 mAh battery.

Of course, the only thing that separates a rumor from facts is the Android 7.1 or Nougat which is confirmed to run in "Google Nexus 2016" phones.

HTC and Huawei as the Manufacturers   

No LG for the second inning of the next Nexus phones since HTC and Huawei are commissioned to manufacture the "Google Nexus 2016" phones. However, though it remains unconfirmed, looking back at the previous Nexus phones, the two tech giants have the right to get the contract.

Release Date and Price

Game N Guide reported that Pixel and Pixel XL will be release in October 4 during Google's technical event. Speculated price would be higher than $260, so better start saving up now!
