Sony Xperia X Compact Snapdragon 820 CPU, 4GB RAM Specs Revealed; Xperia XR & Xperia X Compact Launch In Late September

Sony Corporation is definitely among the tech companies that will announce new devices at IFA 2016 early next month. It has been said that there will be at least two new handsets in the Xperia X family to be revealed.

Rumor has it that the highly-anticipated Xperia X Compact is one of the smartphones to be announced by Sony very soon, while the other device is the Xperia XR, based on the report of Phone Arena.

Sony fans would be delighted to know that the new information about the Xperia X Compact has just surfaced at Gfxbench, a high-end graphics benchmark that determines mobile and desktop performance mathematically.

The list of specs of Xperia X Compact popped up and showed that the smartphone should be powered by a 2.1GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and 4 gigabyte of RAM. Xperia X Compact is also expected to be packed with a 64 gigabyte internal storage, but a microSD card slot was not mentioned.

Also, the upcoming Sony smartphone will sport a 4.6-inch display that supports full HD resolution.

Sony Xperia X Compact 16-megapixel rear camera, that comes with flash, as well as autofocus and face detection, can capture 4k video. The front camera comes along with an 8-megapixel for state-of-the-art selfies.

Sony Xperia X Compact will be loaded with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but the tech company is expected to provide an Android Nougat upgrade at a later date.

Anyway, as the rumors about the upcoming Xperia XR and Xperia X Compact have been swarming the internet, a Twitter user hinted that as the smartphones are soon to be unveiled, the launch isn't far away either. The Twitter user speculated that Xperia XR and Xperia X Compact will be launched on September 24, according to GSM Arena.

While the smartphone is expected to be officially unveiled next month, it will probably take a few weeks for the tech giant to make it available on the market.
