Instagram New Filter Rolled Out: Abusive Comments To Be Removed, Discourage Trolls; Photo Sharing Network Copies Snapchat?[VIDEO]

One of the best roll outs done by Instagram is probably the filter that bans certain words. Yes, this feature has been rolled out.

Don't be mean to other online users because Instagram will allow you to ban certain words from appearing in the comments and even in the posts, according to The Verge. This week, the photo-sharing social network introduced a new filter, which users can manually customize the settings in order to filter such words. All they need to do is to add words that they want to exclude that usually used by trolls and spammers.

As of now, the new filter is only available to some users, but the photo-sharing network also plans to make this filter available to other users. Model Chrissy Teigen is one of the users who have tried this Instagram feature. Teigen shared a screenshot of the new Instagram features. The photo shows the customs keywords she wants to exclude, which most of them are insults likes, "Trump," "Colon," and "Cleanse."

Instagram's head of public policy Nicky Jackson Colaco, told The Washington Post that the company wants the social network to be "a friendly, fun and, most importantly, safe place for self expression." So instead of implementing a ban on certain words, Colasco said the option will let the users to choose how they will moderate their comment experience.

Previously, Instagram was accused of copying Snapchat. This month, the photo-sharing network introduced "stories," a secondary feed that is available for only 24 hours from the time of posting. According to The Verge, this feature is nearly "identical" to the central feed of Snapchat.

Well, maybe the new feature of Instagram will make them different to Snapchat because the customizable word filter will discourage bullying.
