Apple will ship its "most personal device yet" in March.
According to a new report from 9to5Mac, unnamed sources confirmed the Apple Watch will ship in the U.S. in late March. The new report is in line with long-held rumors that the device will hit the market in the spring, or "early 2015."
The sources said Apple is putting the finishing touches on the Watch's software and are already planning a training system for retail employees in early-to-mid-Feb. to become familiar with the device. 9to5Mac described the training for employees as "extensive," which is expected given the device is the first smart watch Apple has ever launched.
The anticipation surrounding the Watch may have also led Apple to take its time in production and 9to5Mac noted that further delays may be expected. Apple was also reportedly testing the Watch's battery and operating system rigorously.
The Watch will come in three iterations: the high-cost Edition, the aptly-title Standard and the health-centered Sport. Each will also differ in various ways such as size and material and the price range will essentially start at $349 and may climb into the thousands of dollars.
Apple officials showed off the Watch at their fall 2014 product showcase, so it is unclear if there will be another press event to discuss the device further ahead of its launch. With all the anticipation, Apple seems primed to just release the device once it is truly ready.
