Argentina has history on its side. Twenty years ago, the South American country had beaten the Netherlands 3-1 in the 1978 World Cup final.
The Dutch side's offensive engine, Arjen Robben, is injured and will miss Wednesday match. He;s had more than double "the number of solo runs into the penalty area of any other player in the tournament. And he's tied for second in deliveries in the penalty area among active players."
Argentina will be without Angel Di Maria, who injured his right thigh in the first half against Belgium. Di Maria leads his team with 25 shots.
"Striker Sergio Aguero should return from an injury to his thigh, and perhaps we might see Maxi Rodriguez in place of Di Maria, but needless to say, this puts more pressure on Lio Messi to elude defenders, attack in tight areas, and facilitate," CBS Sports reported.
According to FIFA, Arena Corinthians, has been chosen to host the Opening Match of Brazil 2014 and will also welcome five other encounters, including one semi-final. Its capacity is 63,321.
