Our memory works limitlessly. But as humans grow older memory loss is just a normal thing. That is why as early as today it is advisable to strengthen your brain over time, especially when you are a college student.

As we all know, this is the time where we spend most of our intellectual abilities. Let's take a look at some scientific-based methods that you can practice to keep your memories around as long as possible.

1.      Meditate to enhance your working memory

Working memory is like the brain's notepad. It is where new information is held temporarily. Here is where you store immediate information like new names and address of a place you're going to. It is normal to forget the unnecessary information instantly. But when the brain decided you need to commit long-term memory they can be strengthened and recalled when you need them.

Meditation is one of the best ways you can try to strengthen the brain and avoid memory loss. Based on specific research a person with no experience in mindfulness meditation can improve their memory recall in two months. Meditation reduced the brain's processing information letting it relax and work properly.

2.      Drink coffee to boost your memory consolidation

Numerous studies suggested that drinking coffee that contains the proper amount of caffeine can improve long-term memory when taken after learning sessions. About 200 mg of caffeine is great enough to boost your memory. Apart from the taste and amazing aroma, coffee can help your brain's mechanism to coordinate according to your needs.

3.      Eat berries as memory enhancers

Berries boost long-term memory storage. Blueberries are believed to improve performance on spatial working memory tasks when added to a normal diet for twelve consecutive weeks. The effects will start after three weeks of consumption while working on a specific study.

Strawberries can also do the same but you need to eat roughly 10 pounds per day to see any effect. Blueberries are known for high flavonoids which strengthen the connections in the brain. That explains why they are good as long-term memory enhancers.

4.      Regular exercise to improve your memory recall

This one is proven over the years. A regular exercise can improve not only your memory but also the overall health of your body. If you are looking for a way to stay sharp mentally, walking is the best answer for you.

Walking is a simple exercise that can help regulate blood circulation. Good blood circulation leads to better functionality of different systems of the body and that includes the nervous system. You can practice a daily 30-minute walk to release the body's toxins and help ignite the brain's neurons.

5.      Sleep more for better brain functionality

We all know that the brain can work limitless but brain productivity is another thing. Sleep is the most important element that you need to have a good memory and without it, you are going to struggle remembering the things you've learned.

Taking a quick nap of 30 minutes can also improve your memory recall. Do that especially during exams when you don't have enough time to memorize everything. Never push yourself when the brain gets foggy, take a quick nap and you'll see how efficient and effective you are every minute.

You can try the above tips and see which ones will work best for you. Deal with those review modules and ace that examination!
